"Walking Together Healing Togeather."

EZ Streets is an Urban Indigenous nonprofit organization rooted in Minneapolis, serving the Indigenous community members through culturally grounded prevention, wellness, and connection.

Our Mission

"Healing Together, in The Heart of the City,"

EZ Streets exists to strengthen Urban Indigenous communities by connecting people to culture, healing, and one another. We believe that when culture is alive and accessible, communities thrive.

We walk alongside community members — not in front of them. Our work is grounded in the understanding that Indigenous people hold the wisdom, resilience, and vision needed to heal and lead.

Our Story

Born From Community, Built for Community

1

EZ Streets was founded by Urban Indigenous community members who recognized the need for culturally grounded support in Minneapolis. Too many of our relatives were navigating systems that didn't see them, spaces that didn't honor them, and a city that often felt disconnected from their identity and traditions.

2

We started with outreach — meeting people where they are, offering connection, resources, and a reminder that they belong. From those roots, we grew into a full-service community organization offering Wellbriety support, youth and family programming, Two-Spirit and LGBTQ2S+ affirming spaces, and resource navigation.

3

Today, EZ Streets remains Indigenous-led and community-driven. Every program, every gathering, every conversation is shaped by the people we serve.

What Guides Us

Our Values

Cultural Grounding

We center Indigenous traditions, teachings, and ways of knowing in everything we do. Culture is not a program — it is the foundation.

Community First

Our community members are not clients — they are relatives. We show up with respect, humility, and a commitment to walking alongside people.

Holistic Wellness

We honor the whole person — mind, body, spirit, and heart. Healing happens when all parts of a person are seen and supported.

Inclusion & Affirmation

Every Indigenous person belongs here — including Two-Spirit and LGBTQ2S+ community members. We create spaces where all identities are honored.

Indigenous Leadership

Our organization is led by Urban Indigenous people. We believe those most impacted must be at the center of decisions that affect their lives.

Sovereignty & Self-Determination

We recognize the distinct sovereignty of each Tribal nation and honor the diversity of Indigenous identities, languages, and traditions represented in our community.
